Blair Taylor is the senior practitioner in the administrative and municipal law department with an emphasis on development law.  Blair is very active providing representation for the private sector, institutions, and municipalities in Ontario.  He regularly appears before regional and municipal councils, their committees, the Ontario Municipal Board, and the Conservation Review Board.

 

Practice Experience:

• The acquisition of a site and processing for a new public hospital
• Ontario Municipal Board approval of a 435 unit condominium in North Oakville
• Approval for vacant land and common elements condominiums
• The first Ontario Municipal Board ruling regarding migratory birds under the new Provincial Policy Statement
• Expropriations by provincial, regional and municipal governments
• Development charges representation for private schools and landowners
• Approvals for a number of estate subdivision developments on Lake Ontario
• Heritage Act representation
• Approval of the largest private residence in Canada
• Approval of the Burlington Air Park expansion
• Approval of the Bronte Outer Harbour Marina

 

Professional Activities:

 

Blair is a member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Municipal Law sub-section.  He is a former member of the Region of Halton’s Development Charges Advisory Committee and the Oakville Economic Development Alliance.

 

Community Involvement:

 

Community directorships have included the Oakville Hospital Foundation, the RBC Festival of Classics, the Canadian Club of Oakville, the Oakville Prayer Breakfast, the Oakville Golf Club and the Oakville Center for the Performing Arts.
